New Akrapovic for Transalp

The Slip-On Line for the Honda XL750 Transalp is crafted using materials recognized for their use in competitive settings. Its components – a black-coated outer sleeve on the silencer, an innovative end cap and bracket made from lightweight titanium, a stainless steel connecting pipe, and an internal silencer frame – are perfectly designed to enhance its performance.

Alternatively, the Slip-On Line (Carbon) for the Honda CB750 Hornet features a handcrafted carbon fiber outer muffler sleeve, a stainless steel inner frame and connecting pipe, ending with a stylish titanium end cap to create a sporty look.

During Akrapovič’s development of the Slip-On (Titanium) line designed for the XL750 Transalp, they focused on expanding throttle reaction and rideability. This proved to make noteworthy strides in the average and high rev ranges. A power increase of 0.7 kilowatts (0.9 horsepower) and a torque boost of 0.9 pound-feet (1.3 Newton-meters) at 5,700 rpm compared to the regular exhaust system was observed through tests on Akrapovič’s dyno.

The Slip-On (Carbon) line designed for the CB750 Hornet was created to improve power and torque, especially in the medium and upper rpm. Tests conducted on Akrapovič’s in-house dyno showed a boost of 0.5 kW (0.7 horsepower) at 5,250 rpm and 0.42 pound-feet (0.6 Newton-meters) additional torque at 5,300 rpm when placed in comparison with its stock system.

Both the Slip-On Line (Titanium) and Slip-On Line (Carbon) exhausts experience significant performance gains with lightweight materials used in their construction; the Titanium model sheds 3.5 pounds (1.6 kg), a reduction of 39.8 per cent, while the Carbon option sees an even more significant weight cutback, shaving off 3.9 pounds (1.8 kg) for a 45.6 per cent drop when compared to stock versions.

It is helpful to point out that Akrapovič has made installing these CE/ECE-approved Euro 5 slip-on exhaust systems easy, requiring no remapping. Once mounted on the bike and revved up, they will produce their signature deep and sporty sound that highlights the 270-degree crankshaft configuration of the engine while also staying compatible with Honda’s original soft cases.
