THREE new Benelli’s to be RELEASED next month.

We’ve heard on the grapevine that Benelli’s new TRK 251, Leoncino 250 and 502C Cruiser are set to arrive in dealers this April.

First unveiled at EICMA 2018, alongside an eclectic range of new machines, we’ve heard that Benelli is gearing up to deliver its new TRK 251, Leoncino 250 and 502C Cruiser to the general public in Spain towards the end of April. And chances are, we won’t have to wait much longer to see them in the flesh too. 

Benelli has been undergoing a major resurgence over the last few years, cementing its place back into the hearts and minds of motorcyclists worldwide since being taken over by QJ in China. It’s moved away from producing out and out sportbikes as it did in the 90s, instead focusing on an eclectic mix of mid-to-small capacity Chinese-built metal. And it seems to be going well – with widespread acclaim for its TRK 502 adventurer and its neo-retro styled Leoncino 500.

But never mind all that. Let’s get into specifics about the new machines. First off, there’s the new Benelli TRK 251. Essentially it’s an A2 licence adventurer which comes equipped with a 249cc single-cylinder engine that kicks out 24.5hp at 9500 rpm (which is actually the same as its TRK 502 big brother). It’s kitted out with a big screen, an adventure style beak, LED lights and a built-in USB socket.

The new Leoncino 250 comes fitted the same single-cylinder engine which is used in Benelli’s BN 251 naked sportbike – but shares styling cues with its 500cc big brother. And finally, Benelli will release its new 502C Cruiser. It comes fitted with same engine as its TRK 502 and Leoncino sibling, but will receive a remap to change power delivery and torque. It’ll come with forward footpegs and wide handlebars to complete its naked dragster aesthetic.

At this stage, that’s about all we know. There’s been no official confirmation from Benelli UK office, and we’ve still not heard anything about UK pricing either – but if Spanish dealers are gearing up for the arrival of three new bikes, chances are that we won’t be too far behind.
