According to factory sources, AJS and Kawasaki will be joining forces to build a 400cc big brother for the current 125cc AJS Cadwell.
We don’t have more details yet, but considering that Kawasaki recently announced the discontinuation of its retro bike, the W800, this could be a way for the Japanese manufacturer to bring back the engine (and perhaps more) of the W400 to keep in touch with the cafe racer scene.
Timescales haven’t been cleared yet, but we certainly hope that the new bike sees the light of day soon. The current Cadwell looks great, but we’d love to see how it would fare against the likes of the Ducati Scrambler Sixty2, if it was equipped with a new 400cc engine.
