The new BMW G310R is the first sub-500cc roadster from the Bavarian manufacturer.
The G310R has a completely newly developed 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts together with electronic fuel injection. The bore is 80 millimetres and the stroke 62.1 millimetres.

The engine has its backward-tilted cylinder in open-deck design with the cylinder head turned by 180 degrees, making it possible to position the intake tract at the front, viewed in the direction of travel. The claimed output is 25 kW (34 hp) at 9,500rpm and the maximum torque 28Nm at 7,500rpm. Weight is reported at 158.5 kilograms according to DIN. 2-channel ABS is fitted as standard.
Low fuel consumption and a relaxed, comfortable seating position combined with what BMW calls ‘powerful dynamic performance’ mean that this is not just a city bike, but should also be capable of taking on the open roads and longer journeys. According to BMW it offers relaxed, stress-free and easy-going motorcycling.
