Switch Motorcycles has just unveiled its first electric bike; the eSCRAMBLER. And if all goes to plan, it’ll be available to buy in 2022.
Built by the bloke behind bike builders Shanghai Customs, the Switch eSCRAMBLER could be the best looking retro-styled electric bike we’ve seen yet. It’s been designed by former Yamaha designer and Danish flat track champion Michel Riis – who used Shanghai Customs’ own eTRACKER concept as inspiration.
With a top speed of around 150kph, 0–100 kph in 3.2 seconds and minimum range of 150km per charge, the eSCRAMBLER sounds like a proper bit of kit. Although it’s a concept at this stage – the team behind the bike are working hard to get it homologated for public consumption.

As a result, Switch isn’t planning to release a road legal version of eSCRAMBLER until 2022 – but it’s going to be running the bike on the Scandinavian flat track circuit in the meantime. It’ll be interesting to see how it gets on – but considering the track record of the guys behind the bike, we’re pretty optimistic it’ll perform well. Time will tell.
