Finnish technology start-up RMK has announced it’s now taking pre-orders for its E2 electric motorcycle – which features a revolutionary hubless wheel design.

Blending traditional cruiser and roadster styling and ergonomics with thoroughly modern technology, RMK’s E2 electric motorcycle is driven by a rear rim-mounted motor with a hubless design. It’s a clever idea – with power fed from three cables to help deliver 67hp and 236 lb-ft of torque.

The hubless rear wheel also offers regenerative braking which works to help recharge the battery. Braking is activated using the left hand lever, while the right one activates a conventional twin-disc brake on the front wheel (a lot like a bicycle, or scooter). The RMK E2 is also kitted out with sparse, modern bodywork – and comes with a futuristic, Tesla-like digital instrument cluster with built-in navigation mounted on top of its ‘tank’.

At this stage, it’s expected to cost around 24,900 euros (which is about £21,904) – but if you’re interested in getting your hands on one, you can pre-order your own RMK E2 with an initial 2,000 euro deposit. If you’re after more information on the RMK E2, click HERE.
