Energica electric bikes updated for 2017

Italian motorcycle manufacturer Energica has updated their Ego and Eva electric motorbikes for 2017, managing to increase horsepower and torque, while bringing them in line with Euro 4 regulations – plus they’ve just introduced a couple of loyalty packages.

The new Ego sportbike now has 145bhp (previously 136) while the Eva naked sportsbike has 108bhp (up from 95) – Energica have also increased the maximum torque of both machines, the Ego is up from 195 to 200Nm and the Eva from 170 to 180Nm.

The bikes have always been well equipped, featuring Marzocchi suspension, Brembo brakes, Bosch ABS and a TFT screen, but the Energica bikes for 2017 also gets OBD (on board diagnostics), which means that the bikes will be able to communicate with a universal diagnostic tool, allowing any workshop to access the data and take action on necessary repairs.

If you’re tempted and have got a few spare quid in your pocket, the 2017 Energica range is already on sale – all priced at a whopping £31,250 – one of these or three MT10s? Hmmm…

Up until June 30, Energica is also offering additional ‘Value Promotions’ on the two bikes. You can either opt for a guaranteed trade-in value of 50% of the price you paid, plus a 6,000 Euro bonus or choose to extend the battery warranty, to 5 years/100,000 km (over the standard 3 year/50,000 km warranty).
