BMW’s prototype ELECTRIC scooter; the Definition CE 04. Factory confirms it’ll go into production soon.

This is still a prototype, but according to BMW it is not far from being ready for production. Based on the Concept Link from 2017, the new Definition CE 04 is an electric scooter designed for urban commuters.

Styling is modern. Electric drive train and batteries require different space and shapes than combustion engine, so the design has a distinctive futuristic look. “Maybe it will polarise, but it will definitely stand out,” says Alexander Buckan, Head of Vehicle Design BMW Motorrad.

The scooter features a large 10.25in dash, and you can connect to the machine through your smartphone. There’s also a range of matching riding kit with built in lights to help you be visible on the scooter.

We don’t yet have the performance figures, but given that this is an urban vehicle for short rides, you can expect it to match city scooters in terms of power. No news about when it goes to production.
