The American automotive giant has just joined forces Zero Motorcycles to electrify a range of its vehicles.
At the minute, the ten year deal includes its snowmobiles and off-road vehicles – but not the Indian Motorcycles brand. But considering the recent news that the resurgent Indian factory is planning on releasing an electric bike in the not too distant future, it’s certainly possible we’ll see a Zero powered machine eventually.

Speaking about the news, Polaris CEO Scott Wine said: “Thanks to advancements in power, pricing and performance over the last several years, and with customer interest surging, now is the right time for Polaris….to implement our [EV strategy], said in the company’s news release. The first EV designed by Polaris and Zero is due by the end of 2021.
It’s an intresting move from Polaris. It’s a big company, and you’d maybe expect them to start producing its own EV technology. But then again, it’s not an easy process – and Zero’s definitely proved itself over the last few years with its ever growing range of machines.
Don’t expect anything immediately though. Polaris is planning to release a new electric offering in each of its business segments (which are covered by the Zero agreement) by 2025. For now, we’ll just have to sit tight and wait and see if that includes Indian Motorcycle a bit further down the line.
