The dust has barely settled after BMW revealed its new R18 cruiser, but already there’s talk of another. This time from the unlikely direction of Honda.
We haven’t heard anything about this from the factory, but our Japanese colleagues from Young Machine magazine are certain that this will happen. And they are usually on the money with these things…
They have mocked up a pretty nifty Honda Rebel 1100 that has the looks of the current Rebel 500 but features the big parallel twin engine from the new Africa Twin.

It would make sense that Honda did this to get the most out of the existing engine, and the computer-generated bike looks good – if Honda comes up with something that looks like this, they’re going to sell quite a few of them.
No news yet about the spec of the (so far unconfirmed) bike, but it’s likely to have similar power figures to the current Africa Twin (100bhp/77lb-ft), and it would also make sense for it to have the same level of tech as the new Africa Twin, with the option of going DCT for really relaxed cruising.
We’re pretty excited to find out if this new cruiser will see the light of day soon.
