Australian racing legend and five-time 500cc GP World Champion Mick Doohan has been busy this weekend. He’s been at Glemseck in Germany – riding an AWESOME one-off custom from Honda Racing UK, called the Glemseck CB1000R.
Each year, swarms of two-wheeling enthusiasts descend on the historic Solitude circuit of Leonberg in Germany. They’re there to watch an abundance of vintage motorcycles, café racers, and one-off customs face off in 1/8th mile sprint races. And this weekend, Mick Doohan was in attendance – to put a custom Honda CB1000R through its paces.

Honda Racing UK has overhauled its standard CB1000R to create the Glemseck CB1000R. It’s been outfitted with a bespoke single-sided swingarm, a custom clutch and Rizoma accessories. That’s not all though, it comes fitted with a full Akrvpovic exhaust system, upgraded Brembo brakes, and Fireblade SP Öhlins suspension.
The styling has been overhauled too, with an awesome HRC tricolor scheme, dripping with gold detailing. Interestingly, despite the swathe of upgrades the power and weight don’t seem to be different from the standard model – as the bike was registered at the event using its stock numbers (145 PS and 212 kg). Either way, we’d love to ride it. It looks fantastic, and with that Akropovic exhaust, we’re sure it sounds fantastic too.
