TW Steel has teamed up with BMW Motorrad and VTR Custom, blending the worlds of airplanes, watches and custom motorcycles. Together they’ve come up with a gorgeous range of luxury Swiss watches and a custom motorcycle, all-inspired by the iconic Spitfire aeroplane.
TW Steel has taken the Spitfire’s style, power and heritage as inspiration, creating six limited edition timepieces. Jordy Cobelens, CEO of TW Steel, said: “We said we were going to take Swiss luxury somewhere and here we are. ACE Genesis was a huge step forward for us, a huge opportunity and at the end of it all, a huge success. The ACE Spitfire Collection builds on that success by throwing it together with something we’ve been rolling with for two years now, Son of Time. Combining these two worlds, the raw power and bold attitude of Son of Time and the refined, luxurious, premium materials of ACE; it’s been really special and we think the results speak for themselves. Working with BMW Motorrad and VTR Customs has been a great experience as well. We love their passion for engineering and seeing the Spitfire bike take shape has been a thrilling experience. We look forward to achieve great success in the Sultans of Sprint!”

Ton Cobelens, Chief Designer Officer of TW Steel added: “But, the collection goes much beyond that. We’ve got six timepieces here, each one is luxury, each one has Swiss-made quality at its core and each one has that TW Steel energy running through it. And with the ultimate challenge to provide that at a price that’s accessible. When we saw the response from the ACE Genesis timepiece, we knew our next ACE watch had to be a step above and I think that’s what we have here. It’s something we’re incredibly proud of.”
Each of the TW Steel ACE Spitfire Limited Edition timepieces feature oversized 316L high grade, stainless steel cases with rough matte brushing. They have a unique hook design with pusher function, screwed crown and luxurious scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystals. More specifically, the ACE201 timepiece is powered by the Swiss Sellita SW510 automatic chronograph movement with 27 jewels and a power reserve of 48 hours – while the other five models have the Swiss Sellita SW500 automatic chronograph with a power reserve of 48 hours and 25 jewels.
Drawing on aviation history, the ACE201 watch proudly displays the RAF logo on the dial – and each of the other five designs drawing elements from aviation’s most iconic piece of engineering. Every case back sports a unique design, that can be personalized upon order with sapphire crystal and the pieces are all water resistant to 10ATM. The straps are TW Steel exclusive combinations of high strength, soft rubber and supple, Italian vintage leather and all of the pieces ship in a luxury black, high gloss lacquer finish gift box with a white interior.
Plus, each timepiece is individually numbered with a unique serial number and is delivered with a certificate of authenticity. There are just 1,000 units of each design to purchase and they will be made available for a limited pre-order price at €999 (just under £900) or later at retail for €1899 (just under £1700).
