Honda RC166 Mike Hailwood Replica from Tapei

Tapei-based bike builder 1996 Biker Custom of Taipei has created its own version of Mike Hailwood’s infamous Honda RC166.

For the uninitiated, the iconic RC166 helped Honda and Hailwood dominate the world of racing in the 1960s, with its high-revving, lightweight 6-cylinder, 250cc, air cooled machine kicking out 56.8bhp. And it’s not a surprise Hailwood dominated the 1966 and 1967 world championships, before regulation changes forced quarter-liter engines to have a maximum of two cylinders.

Sadly, we’ve not been able to find out much about the one-off. We know it’s a single cylinder; so it’s likely to be low-displacement. Best of all though, it’s road legal.
