It’s been a long time coming, but Moto Guzzi has said that it WILL be putting the MGX-21 Flying Fortress super cruiser into production.
We saw the bike at last year’s EICMA show and back then it was just a prototype, but now the bike will add to the Guzzi range for 2017.

Basically, the bike is a bagger version of the 1380cc California cruiser. It comes with ride-by-wire throttle, ABS and traction control.
That’s all gravy, but what makes the California 1400 such a good cruiser to ride (and therefore, what will really work in the MGX-21’s favour too) is the unique feel of the motor. Because the engine is mounted on what are, effectively, specifically tuned giant rubber bands the firm can tune how much, and where in the rev range, the vibrations hit.
Riding the V-twin is a great expereince because of this. Under 2,000 revs, so basically when idle, the engine vibes quite heavily and has the Guzzi-style rock from side to side as you blip the throttle. Over 2,000 the vibes disappear and the motor takes on the delivery character of a hugely torquey four cylinder, super smooth engine.
No price about the MGX-21 yet, we’ll tell you once we have it.
Guzzi says it will launch the MGX-21 bagger 1400 for 2016
