He said: “I tried to keep as many original parts as possible, while making a cool-looking bike. I wanted to make something between ‘classic’ and ‘sport’”.

The whole bike has been rebuilt, the original’s plastic airbox has been swapped for a more cosmetically-pleasing item from a 1970s R80/7. Cimolini has also lowered the whole bike by just over an inch, fitted an extra fork clap and swapped the clip-ons for more racey options.

The front of the fairing has had air-cooling slats cut into it, the screen has been bobbed so that it is taller and the sides of the original fairing are now gone to keep the huge amount of original-bike heat away from the rider.

Originally, the bike’s exhausts were huge and extended past the outer edged of the rear tyre, these ones had been trimmed shorter for a more contemporary look.
