Ten-time Dakar competitor and Ducati off-road expert Beppe Gualini has released a video breaking down how to handle a big bike off-road.
There’s a lot of scepticism about just how well big adventure bikes handle off-road. Ok, so there’s little doubt what they can do in the hands of experts, but for us mere mortal there’s often talk of them being too big, too heavy and having too much power to tackle any seriously tricky terrain. That’s why Ducati’s Beppe Gualini has created a video explaining some of the techniques you need to master to get the best out of a big bike on the rough stuff.
Sitting astride his Cagiva Dakar racer, Gualini offers some tips and pointers on how to handle a big bike off-road. Interestingly, the skills he breaks down are the basic building blocks of the Ducati Riding Experience Enduro (DRE Enduro) course.

It’s all in Italian – but thankfully, there are subtitles, annotations and demonstrations to help get Gualini’s points across. It’s well worth a watch if you’re looking to improve your off-road riding.
