There’s been talk about a 250cc version of Kawasaki Versys for some time now, but the story just got more credible with the publication of Kawasaki Indonesia documents on tmcblog.com
The documents show that Kawasaki Indonesia has registered two codes: Kawasaki LE250B and KawasakiLE250C. Since the code for the 650cc Versys is LE650C, it’s quite likely that one of the new codes is for a new mini-adventurer. For European markets the bike will most likely be presented as a 300cc version.

It would make a lot of sense for Kawasaki to join the trend of diversifying its range of small and mid-range machines, with a mini-Versys. With the spy shots of the new BMW G310 GS adventure bike surfacing last week, 2017 could be a great year for small adventure bikes.
