The new Tracer 700 will be available in three colours – Radical Red, Tech Black and Yamaha Blue. Based around the Japanese firm’s 75bhp twin-cylinder motor the powerplant used in the MT-07 there’s not much different mechanically from the donor bike in the engine-front but the newest Tracer does get a 50mm longer swingarm than the one used on the MT-07 for extra stability. The bike tips the scales at 196kg wet.
To suit its long distance role, the 130mm travel front and rear suspension get revised settings for a smoother character in a variety of conditions. Dual 282mm front discs with four-pot calipers and a 245mm rear disc take care of the braking and ABS is equipped as standard.
We’ll bring you our first impressions of the bike once we’ve got a few miles under our belt in the morning, we’ll show you around the latest member of the MT family soon here on MoreBikes.
Here’s the launch video of the model (not the launch we’re on, we’ll show you that when we’ve shot it… this is the video Yamaha released when it launched the bike) – the spec sheet from Yamaha is below the video:
