There’s another image that’s appeared in the Japanese press yesterday of the Versys 250 – an upcoming Kawasaki rumour that’s really gaining pace.
It’s not a new story, we and other outlets have been picking up on the quarter-litre roadster rumour for around a year now – but this is the latest version of how the small greenie will look.
Previous versions have had the bike a virtual copy of the bigger bike, this version has the edges softened and the whole overall appearance much more user-friendly.

According to the Japanese, the bike is going to be powered by a 249cc parallel twin motor (the same engine as is currently running in the firm’s Ninja 250R) and will come with ABS and some level of rider tech – that is likely to be a rudimentary rider mode system like Rain and Standard, easy enough to program into a bike’s electronics system using the ABS data gathering set-up.

And this is how the Japanese say the bike is actually going to look when it’s released later this year as part of Kawasaki’s confirmed 12-new-bike line-up, note the new fairing, higher screen and bigger exhaust – it’ll be virtually identical to the 2016, updated-look Versys 1000 but with the quarter-litre motor:
