Africa Twin will cost £10,499 for ABS, £11,299 for DCT versions – Honda announces

It’s the first day of the Motorcycle Live show at the NEC today and Honda has decided to announce the UK prices for both models of its new Africa Twin.

The ABS model (that’s the one with switchable ABS at the rear wheel) will sell for £10,499 whilst the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)  option is £11,299.

Both models will come come with the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) as standard, that’s a ways for the rider to be able to choose the level of wheel spin and ABS intervention as required.

As you’d expect, Honda has PCP plans already in place for the new Africa Twin with the lowest monthly payment on the factory’s own scheme costing £115 month for the ABS model.

The DCT model features an all-new version of Honda’s transmission system.  In ‘S’ mode, three levels of sports performance, with swifter downshifts and the ability to hold a higher or lower gear, make it possible for the rider to tailor gearbox response to their preferred riding style.

The DCT system also operates with ‘adaptive clutch capability control’ giving a natural, feathered clutch feel at low speed. Another feature of the DCT evolution on the Africa Twin, delivering essential off-road performance, is a new ‘G’ mode.  At the touch of a button, the clutch system is altered to give a more direct drive.

Africa Twin’s DCT system also gets incline detection. This adapts the gear shift pattern depending on the grade of any incline for more control.
