Stupid drivers like Roy Chubby Brown reading the paper… what’s a fair fine?

So Roy ‘Chubby’ Brown has been caught on camera reading The Sun whilst driving. Yet the 69 year-old paid nothing more than a £30 fine, with £40 costs and a victim surcharge of £20.

Using a mobile whilst driving costs a heftier £100, though Brown – real name Royston Vasey – received four points on his licence, as opposed to the three a chat on the blower will land a driver.

Driving like this puts all other roads users – motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians and drivers – at a huge risk. Personally, I think this is far more dangerous than talking on the phone, and should have landed the joker with a much heftier fine. What do you think?
