Akrapovič releases new Yamaha MT-09 exhaust

The Akrapovič Racing Line (Carbon), with its striking carbon fibre outer-sleeve and stainless steel headers, suits the naked design of the Yamaha bike and is claimed to bring the best out of the high-torque 3-cylinder engine.

Producing an extra 6.4Nm (4.7lb-ft) of torque at 5,150 revs and increased power output of 7bhp, the Racing Line (Carbon) is said to produce ‘more powerful and thrilling performance in everyday conditions’, as well as saving 3.8kg (8.4lb) from the original system.

Founded in Slovenia twenty-four years ago by former motorcycle racer Igor Akrapovič, the brand has grown to international prominence through its successful support of leading motorsport teams.

To date, eighty-nine world champions from two- and four-wheel motorsport arenas have achieved success with Akrapovič exhaust systems. The company operates from state-of-the-art factories in Slovenia, employing over 700 staff and distributing its products in more than sixty countries.
