Kymco Downtown 300i now available with ABS as standard

KYMCO’s award-winning Downtown 300i Sports-Tourer Scooter, credited for its genuine 300cc capacity and high technical specification, will come with BOSCH ABS as standard from August 2014.

With a RRP of £4199, the new ABS version will be very competitively priced against comparable models in its class.  Furthermore, customers will also benefit from being able to purchase the Downtown 300i ABS via Personal Contract Purchase (PCP).

The finance programme being provided by Black Horse Ltd means customers will be able to buy this top-of-the-range KYMCO model, by deferring a portion of the credit until the end of the agreement. This has the benefit of offering a lower monthly repayment over 3 years in comparison to Hire Purchase or Personal Loan.

At the end of the 3-year agreement, the customer then has the choice of either handing the Scooter back to the finance company, purchasing it outright with the final payment or part exchanging it and starting a new PCP or loan agreement.

About the KYMCO Downtown 300i

Technically, the Downtown 300i has been engineered and aesthetically designed to deliver maximum technological performance and rider comfort, and ABS adds another important safety feature to the already highly specified machine.

At the heart of the machine is KYMCO’s liquid cooled four-stroke, single cylinder, fuel injection engine, which gives the Scooter a genuine 300cc capacity (at 299cc) that can achieve a top speed of 90mph with a powerful 29.5bhp@8000rpm.

The Downtown 300i also benefits from additional technical features, including a high performance chassis, which KYMCO has designed to increase tension and provide a safer ride; a twin balance shaft that reduces engine vibration and improves rider comfort; and a revised CVT transmission system that enhances shift efficiency.

The scooter also has a high quality exterior that is both stylish and practical.  The modern styling is the work of Italian designer’ Massimo Zaniboni, and every detail from the ‘eagle-eyed’ twin headlights, to the elegant instrument panel, the 12v phone / battery charger, the design of the air inlets on the body and the large underseat storage that can easily hold two full-face helmets, has been carefully considered to ensure that it can satisfy the needs of both city and leisure riders worldwide.

In the UK, the Downtown 300i ABS will be available in a fashionable pearlescent white with contrasting black features.  Furthermore, as with all KYMCO machines, it will benefit from the manufacturer’s 2-year unlimited-mileage warranty, and the support of KYMCO’s National dealer network.
