Eileen Handley from Loughton said: “If I wanted posh coffee & cake there are dozens of places to choose from. This is one of the few places in the area that still does a good, cheap cuppa and is an institution for bikers and forest users alike and should be kept as it is.”
Kate Towerzey from Waltham Abbey: “High Beech Tea Hut is part of the history of the forest, we visited regularly when we had a motorbike 30 years ago and still visit today on foot or cycle with our children. Hope it will be still there for our grandchildren to enjoy. Family run businesses are so important to our community and our society – please don’t put this up for tender, keep it just the way it is!”
