Full R&G protection and styling range for KTM 1290 Super Duke R

R&G has released a comprehensive range of protection, styling and enhancement products for the new KTM 1290 Super Duke R.

The V-twin ‘Beast’ from the Austrian manufacturer has redefined the ‘Super Naked’ class with levels of torque and power that require recalibrating of the brain! But despite all that performance, a naked bike is more vulnerable to damage in the event of a drop or crash. R&G can protect the Beast with a series of essential and industry-leading products at a fraction of the cost of genuine replacement parts.

Beginning with the Aero Crash Protectors (no modifications required), the main body of the teardrop-shaped product is machined from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) – a material chosen as it wears to help slow a sliding bike down. The bolts used are also de-embrittled steel; working as a shock absorber to bend instead of snapping or staying rigid – which could twist its mounting point.

Options to guard the RC8 R-derived 1301cc two-cylinder engine come in the form of R&G’s Engine Case Sliders (ECS) or the recent British Superbike-approved Engine Case Covers (ECC). Both products require no specialist tools or draining any fluids from the bike and can not only save hundreds of pounds when compared to replacing original items, but can make the difference between a bike being able to be ridden or raced after a crash and preventing dangerous oil leaks on the road or track.

Other protection products come in the form of the Exhaust Protector, Fork Protectorsand Swingarm Protectors. Spindle Sliders mount through the hollow axle and not only work as protection but also as a way to use a conventional paddock stand despite the bike having a single-sided swingarm.

Preventing damage from everyday road debris and stones comes courtesy of theRadiator Guard, in either Stainless Steel or Aluminium and the rear suspension surrounding Shocktube ®. Frame Plugs cover exposed holes in the frame to keep dirt out while the Kickstand Shoe significantly enlarges the bottom of the sidestand to help prevent the bike falling over when parked on soft ground.

On the styling front, the Tail Tidy significantly sharpens the look of the Super Duke by replacing the standard, bulky numberplate holder and allows the use of standard indicators or R&G’s various Micro Indicators. For solo riders, the Exhaust Hanger is a neat replacement for unused pillion pegs.
