Rumours have started swirling that Royal Enfield’s working on another bike built around its 650cc parallel twin engine. This time it’s a scrambler.
Over the last few days, the Indian motorcycle press has been shouting that Royal Enfield’s next project will be a 650cc scrambler. The rumour started following a webinar held earlier this week by company bosses, in which it was revealed that over the past 12 months designers have pitched a total of 14 ideas for new bikes.
Of course, that’s got plenty of people thinking about what’s on the way from the Indian factory – and although there’s been no official word just yet, it’s certainly not much of a stretch to imagine Enfield unveiling a retro-styled scrambler built around its recently introduced 650cc motor.

The decision’s probably partly inspired by the raft of custom scramblers that have been built from the bones of its Interceptor and Continental GT. Add to that the widespread appeal of Ducati and Triumph’s stylish pseudo off-roaders, and it seems like a fairly sure thing.
