It might be one of the legendary circuits in motorcycle racing folk lore, one that’s conjured up some of (if not THE) greatest 500GP races of all time, but Ricard is up for sale once again.
Ricard’s general manager, Stephane Clair has confirmed the intent for ownership to change hands. He announced the decision by the current owner, ex-wife of F1’s Bernie Ecclestone, Slavica Ecclestone, during a press conference in Var-martin.
Clair explained that it’s not only the circuit that’s up for sale (in this, it’s 50th anniversary year) but the airport and the two hotels that go with it.

He said: “Several offers are being analyzed for a possible transfer of the shares. We are obviously talking about a total sale including the airport, the circuit and the two hotels. The idea is that the ‘Destination Castellet’ existing today includes inseparable services, guarantees of its success.
“Investors are analyzing development capacities. If a file goes through, there will be a sale, maybe this year, maybe next year. Otherwise, Slavica Ecclestone will remain the owner. ”
Paul Ricard has once gain hosted the famous French endurance race, the Bol d’Or since 2015 having lost the annual event to Circuit Le Mans for several years, it’s also hosted Formula 1 since 2018.
