NIU’s made a name for itself over the last few years with its range of affordably priced electric scooters – and now it’s revealed its first motorcycle; the RQi-GT.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NIU has unveiled its all new electric motorcycle – and with a top speed of 100mph and a maximum range of 80 miles (at 30mph), it could be just the bike you’re looking for to tackle the daily commute.
The RQi-GT powered by a mid-mounted 40bhp (30kW) electric motor which has been designed and built by NIU. It uses a belt-driven first stage reduction, with a chain drive at the rear wheel – while power comes from two removable batteries with a combined capacity of 7 kWh.

It gets an adaptive front headlight, anti-lock brakes and traction control – in addition to some top tech including 5G IoT connectivity, IoT connected battery packs with Panasonic battery cells, Full TFT dashboard display, and Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. That means you can track your bike if it gets nicked and you can even check your tyre pressure directly from the app – which constantly gets updated with the bike’s diagnostics.
There’s been no news on pricing just yet, but with NIU’s N GT scooter coming in at just over £3000 – we reckon it’ll come in under five grand mark. For more information on NIU’s latest bit of kit, click HERE.
