Ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas, Segway has confirmed it’s going to be displaying its all-new Ninebot Apex concept. And here it is in action on track.
Ok, so technically Segway are describing the Apex as a ‘super scooter’ – but looking at it closely, it’s more sports bike than scooter. Either way, we think it looks great.
At this stage, there’s been very little information released by Segway – aside from a couple of figures which suggest the Apex will be capable of a top speed of 125mph and will do 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds. That’s it. That’s all the official information that’s out there.

But looking closely at the photos and videos, it’s possible to pick out a handful of features including upside-down forks and double disc brakes with radial-mounted calipers up front, the location of the electric motor and its chain drive transmission.
Thankfully, we’re not going to have to wait too much longer for the full breakdown of Segway’s Ninebot Apex, as it will be officially unveiled at the CES in Las Vegas from January 7-10 2020. Of course, it’s only a concept at this stage so we’ll have to sit tight for the time being and keep our fingers crossed that the ‘super scooter’ goes into production.
Interestingly, it’s not the only electric two wheeler on the way from Segway – it’s also gearing up to launch its eScooter, which is claimed to be capable of reaching a maximum speed of 60mph and cover up to 125 miles from a single charge. Not bad.
