Aprilia is working on a new version of its iconic Tuareg adventure motorcycle – and it’s given us a sneak peek of the bike at EICMA 2019.
There’s been talk that Aprilia’s gearing up reintroduce a seriously capable mid-capacity adventure motorcycle into its line-up for years. But it looks as though it’s finally about to happen. At the EICMA show, the Italian factory quietly hinted that we’re going to get to see a new Tuareg in the not too distant future.
With the introduction of the new RS 660 and Tuono 660 concept, Aprilia’s made it clear that it’s serious about mid-capacity machines – and it looks like we’re going to see another motorcycle built around its new 660cc twin engine; the Tuareg.

Tucked away behind some foliage on the Aprilia stand at EICMA, there’s been no official information released about the new bike – but looking closely, it is possible to glean a couple of key things. From what we can see, the new concept gets a trellis frame, aluminium swingarm, an upswept exhaust, spoked wheels (with knobbly tyres) – and some sharp Tuareg graphics.
At this stage, that’s about as much as we know. Rumours suggest the bike will be at EICMA 2020 – before going on sale in the first months of 2021. We hope so.
