The first thing that stands out on the CK1 125 is the bike’s sharp and modern styling, and it’s this edgy ‘street bike’ look that KYMCO say will attract the attention of younger riders looking for an alternative to the traditional style of learner-legal commuter bike.
With KYMCO’s new efficient 4-stroke air cooled OHC 125cc engine, the CK1 is also cheap to run, making it an affordable choice for commuters. With a comfortable top speed of 65mph, KYMCO claim the CK1 can achieve well in excess of 100 miles per gallon – based on average petrol prices, £10 worth of fuel could, in theory, cover more than 160 miles.
Combine this with KYMCO’s finance package, which is available from just £50 per month*, and not forgetting you can ride a 125 on L-plates, the CK1 is not only a stylish proposition for young learners, it’s also a very affordable one for more mature riders too.
Ian Kidson, Managing Director of MASCO Ltd, KYMCO’s sole UK importer said he is stepping it up a gear in the 125cc motorcycle market with the launch of the CK1. “In the UK, if you are in the market for a new 125cc bike you generally have one of two options – buy a pricey Japanese bike or opt for a cheaper machine from an unknown manufacturer.
“So, with the CK1, we want to bridge this gap. And, at less than £2000 we are offering a quality machine from a globally trusted manufacturer, at a price that puts it firmly in the reach of younger learners and commuters. And not forgetting its edgy sports styling, which will set it apart from other ‘granddad’ style machines in its price range.”
Available from Mid-June 2014, KYMCO’s CK1 125 will come in a choice of Oyster Gold Metallic or Bright Green Metallic, priced at £1999 with a 2-year unlimited-mileage manufacturer’s warranty. Competitive KYMCO Finance incentives will also be available.
