People are visiting a roadside shrine in Rajasthan in Northern India, to worship… a Royal Enfield motorcycle!

The Enfield was owned by a man called Om Banna, who died in 1988 when he hit a tree while riding the bike.  Locals say the bike ‘kept returning to the scene of the accident by itself’, even after a police officer removed it to another state.

People claim the motorcycle has ‘supernatural powers’, with one man saying “The spirit of Om Banna gave me 20,000 Rupees (about £200).”  Another worshipper was happy to say “Whenever I cross this temple I get down to take blessing from Om Banna to have a safe journey ahead.”

The motorcycle shrine has it’s own Tripadvisor page: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g2278123-d5048949-Reviews-Om_Banna-Pali_Rajasthan.html
