The Brit and the Italian took the last two places in the fight for pole position with their final flying laps
LCR Castrol Honda’s Cal Crutchlow topped Q1 with a 1:23.829 at the myWorld Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich to make sure he joined the fight for pole position in Q2. The Brit had a big moment on his penultimate flying lap meaning he left it late, taking top spot with the chequered flag out.
Pramac Racing’s Francesco Bagnaia will join Crutchlow in Q2 after claiming second spot with the final flying lap, knocking out Red Bull Tech 3 KTM’s Miguel Oliveira who was sitting at the top of the timesheets when the chequered flag came out. 13th is, however, a career-best grid slot for the Portuguese rookie.
