The Yamaha and Suzuki riders secured top two places as the Pramac Racing duo of Francesco Bagnaia and Jack Miller missed out
Petronas Yamaha SRT’s Franco Morbidelli earned himself a place in Q2 at the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya after setting a 1:39.727, the fifth fastest lap of the weekend, to top Q1.
The Italian, who bounced back from a monster crash in FP3 earlier in the day, will be joined in the fight for pole position by premier class rookie Joan Mir, after the Suzuki Ecstar rider moved ahead of fellow freshman Francesco Bagnaia (Pramac Racing) in the closing stages.
Bagnaia’s Pramac Racing teammate, Jack Miller, also missed out with a crash halfway through at Turn 5 not helping the Australian’s push for a top two place.
