The brain-child of a team of Slovenian inventors, the aptly-named Wipey is a clip-on windscreen wiper for your motorcycle helmet. And if you want to get in on the action, they’re now about to start crowdfunding to mass-produce the clever bit of kit.
We’ve all been there. The rain’s coming down and you’re not travelling quick enough for the water to disperse with a simple turn of your head. That’s where the Wipey comes in. Essentially, it’s a lightweight mini-windscreen wiper and a motor which can be attached to pretty much any helmet using a simple clamping system. Tested up to speeds of 80mph – it should be happy in most scenarios on the road too.
There are three different wiping intervals, which are activated by pressing the device – or you can even mount a Bluetooth remote control on your bikes handlebars. Powered by a conventional battery – the Wipey should run for between 3 and 12 hours off a single charge.
