Eurosport has confirmed that Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne will join its Bennetts British Superbikes team for the 2019 season.
After successful stint in 2018, Shakey’s joining the team full time alongside lead commentator Jack Burnicle, analysts James Whitham and James Haydon, presenter Matt Roberts and pit-lane reporter Rachel Stringer. Oh, and Greg Haines will be on hand to commentate on support races too.
The six-time BSB champion first made his debut in the Championship back in 1999, so who better to provide expert analysis at all 12 rounds of the 2019 season? Byrne will also be hosting a new 12-part podcast – ‘The Shakey Show’ – where he will review the action from each round, and get the inside scoop from the paddock. But that’s not all – he’ll also be fronting ‘Backtrack with Shakey’, a new short-form run digital series, where he will talk fans through some of his top track tips while sharing memories from circuits throughout the season.
