For the majority of the session it was Andrea Dovizioso who was quickest with Cal Crutchlow just 0.004s behind. Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi played a watching brief in third and fourth places.
Come the last couple of minutes of the second day’s fun and games though and it was Jack Miller and Alex Rins who found the quickest times, only to be bested by Vinales in the dying seconds of the action.
Rossi ended up in sixth, Tito Rabat seventh, the injured Marc Marquez managed a best of eighth fastest with Danilo Petrucci ninth and Takaaki Nakagami rounding out the top ten just over a second slower than Vinales’ best time.
