KTM’s all-new 690 SMC R and KTM 690 ENDURO R are now available in KTM dealers – and now all you’ve got to do is pick which of the cutting-edge single-cylinder machines to take home.
For 2019, the two bikes have received a raft of changes to help make them better than ever before. As a result of KTM’s intensive development program, the latest generation LC4 690cc single-cylinder engine comes housed in a lightweight frame, and there’s also bunch of top specification chassis components and the latest electronic rider aids to help offer an exceptional riding experience.
KTM’s intention with the upgrades was to improve the usability of the two benchmark machines, with the addition of new technology – all without diluting the fun factor on offer. Both bikes are equipped with the most powerful production single-cylinder engine on the market (74hp and 73.5 Nm of torque), which KTM reckons is smoother and more sophisticated than ever before – thanks to two balancer shafts which are aligned to a dual-spark cylinder head, and the addition of ride by wire technology, and a new quick shifter. There’s also electronic rider aids on both bikes, in the form of rider mode technology, lean angle sensitive ABS and traction control system.

But the best news is that both bikes are available from official KTM dealers now – so if you’re tempted by either machine, now’s your chance to check them out in the flesh. And, if you’re on an A2 licence, KTM are also able to remap the bikes to make them licence compatible.
