Reigning World Champion Jonathan Rea continued his strong pre-season form yesterday, coming out on top during the final day of pre-season testing at the Autodromo do Algarve in Portimao – ahead of 2019 Superbike World Championship season kicking off in Australia next month.
Despite suffering a small crash during the minutes of the test, Northern Irishman Rea will be happy with his performance as he gears up for the first race of the season next month. Bringing the fight to Rea, Alex Lowes ended up finishing Day Two at Portimao in second place, 0.959 seconds behind – while Alvaro Bautista set an outstanding fastest lap time of 1’41.934, taking the third spot on the timesheets.
