Google Maps is one of the most popular navigation systems worldwide – but up to this point it’s been missing one thing, a speed camera warning system. But it looks like that’s all about to change, as it’s begun Beta testing the new tech on a selection of mobile devices.
Following on from its acquisition of Waze around five years, Google finally seems to be integrating some of the features from its one-time rival into its own navigation system. First on the list; a new speedcam warning function.
At the moment it’s still in the early stages of Beta testing – which means that it’s not available to all users just yet. And Google hasn’t announced when it will become widely available either – but considering it’s well into testing, we reckon it will be progressively rolled throughout this year. Nice on Google.
