How about this for something absolutely stunning?
This new Z900RS Kawasaki, photographed by our mates at YoungMachine, has been customised by Japanese bolt-ons business, Doremi and gone from road going retro to full-on throwback with a huge supercharger bolted onto the side.
The bike has been made as a Japanese ‘tribute’ to the Z1-R TC, a 1977 turbocharged Z1-R that was sold in the USA and Japan (pictured below).
The gubbings for the supercharger intakes is hidden in the front of the petrol tank, which has been reduced in volume to allow the intakes to sit hidden at the front of the bike. The air intake is beautifully mounted on the left hand side of the engine and is a work or art all by itself.
The bike’s seat unit, tail bodywork and indicators have all been replaced with custom-made aftermarket kit parts that better fit the 1977 look.
Morris mag wheels are used and the four mufflers come from Doremi’s original four-muffler racing exhaust.
It’s beautiful.
