Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa have been exploring the importance of aerodynamics ahead of the MotoGP season kicking off – by jumping in a skydiving simulator together.
Marquez and Pedrosa donned their flight suits, and jumped in the simulator at Madrid Fly – which is basically a glass tube in which the air circulates at high speed through, recreating the sensation of the skydivers (without the risk) – before sharing their knowledge of aerodynamics and its importance in MotoGP.
It might look like the Repsol Honda lads were just larking around – but they took the opportunity to show off their skills in the horizontal wind tunnel, highlighting how a small shift of position can have a dramatic effect on a riders overall aerodynamics. It’s all in the detail – even the position and angle of a riders feet can make a substantial difference to top speed…
