Kawasaki revealed that its new retro-styled modern classic, the Z900RS, will be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show on October 25th – and there’s a super stylish accompanying video showing a glimpse of the new bike in action too.
The retro bike market is massive at the minute. There’s Triumph’s ever-popular Bonneville range, Ducati’s set of Scramblers and BMW’s range of R NineT’s all vying for position – but Kawasaki has decided to renter the ring after the limited success of its W800, launching its latest retro-styled machine, the Z900RS.

Drawing inspiration from the early 70s 900cc Z1, one of the most iconic sportbikes in Kawasaki’s back catalogue – the teaser video only gives a few glimpse of the bike’s Z1-like styling. But from what we can see, it looks awesome.
We expect that beneath its retro exterior, the Z900RS will share plenty with its modern cousin, the Z900 – but, we’re still waiting for tech specs to be revealed, so can’t say with any confidence what’ll be beneath its fairing. Thankfully, we won’t have long too wait, with the Tokyo Motor Show just around the corner.
