Nieto was involved in a traffic accident at the end of July, with a tourist hitting the quad he was riding from behind. Following an emotional minute silence at the Brno MotoGP, Carmelo Ezpeleta from Dorna Sports confirmed that talks have already begun with the circuit of Jerez, as they look to honour the life and career of iconic Spanish motorcycle racer Nieto.
Carmelo Ezpeleta commented that the mayor of Jerez, Mamen Sánchez Díaz, contacted him to communicate his intentions and that, unless the family is opposed, the name change will take place very soon.
MoreBikes offers its most sincere condolences to Ángel’s family, friends and fans.
