It’s a year since the idea was first suggested, but now it’s been passed for use in the MotoGP and Moto3 classes.
Race Direction bosses in the premier class can already send some notifications (like being black flagged) to the dash of MotoGP bikes but the new system expands what can be sent to a bike’s digital information screen.

Dashboards on Moto3 and MotoGP bikes will have to be able to display text messages from Dorna race bosses and, following approval from the Safety Commission, bikes will also be able to use the screens for specific information from a team – having the dashboard live as a ‘virtual pit board’.
The new, information heavy, dashboards will be able to be run in both Moto3 and MotoGP from 2018 and the Moto2 class from 2019.
