BMW G310R Supersport, Scrambler and Café Racer concepts

Adding a small capacity machine their lineup, BMW Motorrad is pulling out all the stops to try and get younger riders onto two wheels. And the new BMW G310R should offer a pretty convincing argument – but what if BMW unveiled three more models alongside the G310R?

Sadly, these are not ‘official’ concepts. They’re the work of renowned designer Oberdan Bezzi. His latest set of digital renderings reimagine the all-new BMW G310R, as a SuperSport, Cafe Racer and Scrambler motorcycle.

 The BMW HP1 Sport Concept is a fully faired motorcycle which takes direct design inspiration from HP4 Race, using a sharp front end for aerodynamic efficiency. It’s equipped with a typical race bike seat and uses a dual finished fuel tank. The livery in the design is also inspired by BMW race bikes. 

The concept HP1 looks remarkably similar to the TVS Apache RR 310S/BMW S310RR currently road testing in India in its fully faired form (click HERE for the full story).

And if the S310RR (or SuperSport HP1, if you prefer) is this far into development, we’re quietly optimistic that the other concepts might make it into production in the not too distant future.

The BMW G310CR Classic Racer Concept is a cafe racer styled machine, with spoked wheels, wider tyres and a typical cafe racer cowl. It features a slightly different fuel tank, while the stylish front headlight fairing makes it look much better than any other concept till date.

The BMW G310GS Classic Concept Scrambler edition harks back to the heady days of the BMW G/S (and takes inspiration from the new BMW R nine T Scrambler) – with an upswept exhaust, a redesigned, slightly flatter fuel tank, a flat seat, off-road tyres and raised mudguards too.

The standard BMW G310R, which is yet to make it across to British shores quite yet, is powered by a 313 cc, single cylinder engine producing 34bhp and 28Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and claims excellent performance with its low 158.5 kg of weight.

Although the concepts are unofficial (aside from the HP1 – which is well on its way to production), BMW has been known to release variants of standard machines over the years. But if they’re considering making the G310R into multiple different machines, they should definitely take a look at the latest set of designs from Oberdan Bezzi.
