Rumour: MV Agusta USA about to be sold?

Reported on American motorcycle web outlet Asphalt & Rubber by the excellent Jensen Beeler comes this interesting nugget about the troubled Italian brand, MV Agusta.

Whilst there’s virtually no other comment or news about this to be found elsewhere, we’re inclined to believe Beeler’s reports because his contacts in the USA are so good. And he says that he’s heard that the American and Canadian arm of MV Agusta is on the verge of being sold on.

According to what Beeler has written, the rumoured buyer is one Joseph Elasmar who is the Australian distributor. MV makes up a small part of Elasmar’s business alongside several other smaller brands.

Beeler says that the official announcement about the Stateside operations for the Italian company (that, let’s face it, appears to lurching from one crisis to another) could be made in the next few days.
