Here’s the odds on who will be MotoGP champ this year…

So this set of betting figures compiled by the lads at revzilla has got our attention – and loosened up our wallets a bit.

This is the current odds from Ladbrookes and William Hill on who will be the 2017 MotoGP World Champion.

Now, you’ll probably be as unsuprised as we were to see Marc Marquez at the top of the chart with the lowest odds (who would forget Marquez in this sort of thing? You’d have to be pretty daft to not include Marquez in your champion predictions, after all) – but would you put your money on the unknown combinations of Jorge Lorenzo on the Ducati or Maverick Vinales on the Yamaha? Does Cal Crutchlow really rank below the likes of Andrea Iannone and Andrea Dovizioso?

Still, if you’re a patriotic type and fancy burning a tenner on someone then how about our own Sam Lowes? 500 to 1 and 750 to 1 respectively aren’t show-stopping odds in favour of our boy’s first season in the top-flight class, but it’s got to be worth a punt of a few quid at least. You never know what might happen in racing…
