Caught out! Avon’s super secret tyre plan snapped in development model

Well, well, well. Look at this that we snapped up last week (but had to wait to get some details on what we’d seen) – this is what is going to be the Avon Storm replacement tyre for next year.

The new rubber will be out next spring. Apparently it has massive wet performance, good mileage (it’s going after the Pilot Road 4 market). Lots of different tread cuts, racing wet-style, 3D sipes with link bars on the rear (the transverse joining slit is half-depth, so it adds support to the tread blocks while improving water clearance). Front has link bars on the big ’S’ shaped tread cuts too.
