Here’s the 2017 BMW S1000R caught in final toad-going tests outside the Oschersleben circuit in Germany.
At first glance, the bike doesn’t look to be significantly different to the current bike aside from a new silencer (likely to be the after-market Akrapovic unit and not the standard item which will be on the stock bike), some cosmetic tweaks and new footrest position.
The bike’s dash also gets a larger LCD panel and the handlebars on the big naked are rubber mounted to reduce vibration.
The bike in the pictures also gets BMW’s auto-blipper gear shift assist which could mean that the accessory is going to be a standard item on next year’s bike.
The bike’s engine is also getting a new cylinder head, intake cam and lighter intake valves for 2017 to improve engine pick-up.
